During the nine months of 2011 the sales of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and SUV in Russia have increased by 60% as compared to the same period of the past year. The total of 21,225 vehicles were sold within the three quarters of 2011 (against 13,301 units in January- September 2010: Significant growth rates continued throughout the whole period, exceeding the global numbers: Mercedes-Benz passenger cars grew by 8% globally during the nine months of 2011. Based on the passenger car sales results for the three quarters of 2011 Mercedes-Benz still leads the Russian premium segment.
In addition, the September sales results in Russia have hit the record once again: 3,001 units were delivered to the clients during this month, which is the best ever result in the history of Mercedes-Benz in Russia.
Mercedes-Benz light commercial vehicles showed a steady growth of 27% from the beginning of this year, with the total of 1,730 units sold. Moreover, the sales grew in September 2011 by 77% as compared to September 2010.
Based on the performance during the nine months of 2011, all Mercedes-Benz product segments have grown significantly. This mainly resulted from the market launch of the facelifted C-Class in the first half of the year, and the new C-Class coupe.
Mercedes-Benz SUV segment continues demonstrating consistently high results in all vehicle classes. GL-Class leads this SUV segment.
Е-Class is the best selling vehicle class. The new CLS fastback which was presented in the Russian market in September this year will contribute to a further sales growth in future.
