


Mercedes-Benz Russia SAO (former Daimler-Chrysler Automotive Russia SAO) is a Russian enterprise with 100% foreign capital. It was founded on October 8, 1994 as an affiliated company of Daimler AG concern (called Daimler-Benz AG at the time of its establishment) in Russia. It was the first foreign automotive company to appear in Russia.
After selling of 80.1% of Chrysler group shares in October 2007, the concern was renamed into Daimler AG. Since December 10, 2007 its Russian division is called Mercedes-Benz Russia SAO. Since December 2007 Chrysler Russia SAO represents trademarks Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge in the Russian Federation.
At present, more than 800 highly qualified experts work for Mercedes-Benz Russia. Since February 2005 the head office of the company is located in Leningradsky prospect, 39a. А technical centre was opened in 1995 and in May 2008 a new technical centre was opened in Veshki village at the intersection of Altufievsky highway and Moscow Ring highway. It incorporates a modern educational centre, spare parts depot and administrative building. In June 2010 the new Retail centre and technical centre was opened in the neighbourhood.
The company’s most important lines of activity are the promotion of Mercedes-Benz and Maybach trademarks in the Russian market via official dealers, direct sales, aftersales service expansion, enhancement of the company’s dealer network and improvement of its contacts with regional partners. By the beginning of 2011, the dealer network included 54 partners that sold Mercedes-Benz cars and replacement parts, and also provided service maintenance.
Mercedes-Benz Russia SAO pays much attention to the personnel training of dealer companies’. Providing technical consultations and personnel training is one of the most important areas of Mercedes-Benz activities in the Russian market. Personnel training is provided on a regular basis in the Educational centre, with certification granted. The trainees receive knowledge using the latest Mercedes-Benz technologies. Education is provided for mechanics, spare parts depots workers, logistics specialists and salesmen of dealer companies’. In 2011 Mercedes-Benz Russia continues development of the educational project Mercedes-Benz Academy targeted at students of the automotive high schools. Young people are being educated aftersales and service of the passenger cars and commercial vehicles in Mercedes-Benz Training centre.
Mercedes-Benz Russia and its legendary trademarks have been present in the Russian market for a long time, and the company supports it by holding multiple cultural and sports events. During the last years the company sponsored music festivals “Moscow meets friends…”, “Spring in Russia”, “the Kremlin Cup” tennis tournament, “World Latin Dances Cup” and also provided its support to orphanages and hospitals. Since 2007, Mercedes-Benz Russia has been working on the social program “MobileKids” in Russia. The program’s objective is to teach children aged 8-12 from all over the world and improve their knowledge about proper and safe behavior on the road. The company carries on cooperation with infant and secondary schools under this project.
In 2010 the main sites for Mercedes-Benz trademark presentation were important social-economic and political events in Russia: Forums «Russia 2010», «Russia calling!», Russian Innovations Forum «Russia, forward!». In 2011 Mercedes-Benz becames the official car of the Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum, the third year in a row.
Mercedes-Benz Russia took the first place in cathegory “Retail – and consumer sector companies” according to the research «Corporate charity leaders–2009» (15th place in the common rating) and became the only automotive company in the rating. This has once again proved the position of the social responsibility of Mercedes-Benz Russia.
